CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) – A clerical mistake has caused a slight delay in the construction of new schools in Carlsbad.
In February Carlsbad voters approved $60 million in bonds to build four new schools for the district.
Two are to be built right away, but glitches in wording are holding up proposals that would begin the construction process.
Officials say the delay will only be two weeks.
Construction is expected to start on those two schools by May of next year and completed by the end of 2016.
Construction of the other two will immediately follow.
