ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The state health department says two bats in Albuquerque’s South Valley, have tested positive for rabies in the last two weeks.
The most recent bat tested positive Tuesday after it was found crawling on a woman’s bare foot before she kicked it away.
She’s now receiving a series of vaccinations.
Health officials are urging parents to tell their kids not to handle wild animals and make sure your pets are vaccinated.
You can always call 311 if you believe there’s an animal with rabies or poses any other danger.
