CARSLBAD, N.M. (KRQE) – A Carlsbad man who was set on fire while he was out watering his lawn continues to recover at a Lubbock hospital.
Police say two men approached 42-year-old Jimmy Gallegos Monday night and asked for a drink from the hose.
When Gallegos bent over that’s when the men threw gasoline on him and then lit a cigarette, setting him on fire.
Gallegos’ family says he is being treated for severe burns and they’re not sure when he’ll be able to come home.
The only description police have released of the suspects they are white men who were on bicycles.
