Green pesticide tested at UNM

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The annoying grasshoppers that have descended upon Albuquerque this spring may soon be out of luck.

Adam Forshaw with the New Mexico start-up Eco Pesticides is testing an environmentally-friendly pesticide at UNM.

He’s also testing it in North Africa with help from a grant from the Gates Foundation.

Forshaw says the pesticide targets pests without causing damage to the environment.

It’s not for sale to the public just yet, but it could be by the next time insects invade Albuquerque.
