Artist repairs Santa Fe burro statue

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The well-known burro statue in Santa Fe is complete again.

Artist Taylor Mott attached a new tail Tuesday to the metal donkey statue after it was stolen a few weeks ago.

Police have no clues on any possible tail bandits and are offering a $1,000 reward.

The city paid $4,000 to replace the tail, repair three hooves and remove graffiti. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
