1 killed in I-25 wreck near Santa Fe

SANTA FE (KRQE) – Emergency officials responded to a fatal crash just south of Santa Fe Wednesday.

One person was killed in the single-vehicle wreck just after 4:00 p.m. Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to investigators the vehicle had a blow out and the driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to rollover. Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

Southbound Interstate 25 just south of the 599 off ramp only has one lane open to traffic at this time.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible.
