Isotopes player’s injury worse than thought

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Isotopes ear bite fight is apparently a lot more serious than first believed.

Former Isotopes catcher Miguel Olivo got into a fight with infielder Alex Guerrero during a game in Salt Lake City last month and bit off part of Guerrero’s ear.

Now his agent tells CBS Sports Guerrero needed plastic surgery to re-attach the entire upper part of his left ear.

The agent says Guerrero is getting daily hyperbaric treatment at an LA hospital to try to speed his healing.

It’s not clear when he’ll be able to play again or whether criminal charges will be filed against Olivo.
