ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A heat warning has been issued across the state.

Over the next few days temperatures are expected to be the warmest of the year.

And the health department urges people to take extra precautions.

People should not leave their kids or pets alone in cars.

The department says two children in New Mexico have died in the last five years from heatstroke after being left in a hot car.
