Thousands attend Fetch and Release pet expo

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Thousands headed to shop for pets and goodies at Sunday’s Fetch and Release pet expo.

More than 100 pets were shown off at the Balloon Fiesta Park from more than 30 different animal shelters and rescue groups across New Mexico.

Thirty of the animals were rescued and organizers say it’s been a great success.

“It’s been a wonderful weekend at animal welfare,” Carolyn Hidalgo said. “We were able to adopt 20 animals into forever homes yesterday. And today we adopted five.”

The expo featured plenty of booths and family friendly fun.

It was a two day event that ended Sunday.
