ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Questions remain in a stabbing that sent one man to the hospital Saturday.
The suspect says she didn’t do it, even though her kid says she did.
According to a criminal complaint, an 11 and 5-year-old were at the home when police say their mom stabbed her boyfriend.
Samantha Martinez faced a judge Sunday on aggravated battery charges.
Officers were called out to an apartment complex on Montgomery, near Jefferson Street Saturday, where they found the man bleeding from the back.
According to the complaint, the couple was arguing over cheating allegations when the victim says Martinez stabbed him in the back.
However, Martinez had two different stories. First she told cops she didn’t even know he was stabbed until he showed her the knife.
Then she told a neighbor a different story.
“He goes, ‘she stabbed me, she stabbed me,’ and I talked to her and she said ‘well he was standing in front of me and I had knife in my hand and he said stab me, stab me, like I dare you’ and I guess he either bumped into or she stabbed him,” Charlotte Perez said.
The complaint says an officer told Martinez one of her kids said she did it.
Martinez was arrested.
At last check the man was in the hospital in stable condition.
Martinez was charged with aggravated battery against a household member, tampering with evidence and two counts of child abuse because her kids were in the room when she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend.
