Movie filmed in NM doing worse than predicted

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A movie filmed in New Mexico hit the big screen across the nation Friday night, but it is not doing as well as expected.

A Million Ways to Die in the West, is a comedy starring Seth Macfarlane and Charlize Theron. The movie was shot in Santa Fe last summer.

It did worse than predicted on opening night, it took in just $6 million and in third place behind Disney’s Maleficent and X-Men.

Friday and Saturday, Macfarlane answered fans questions on Twitter and again he bashed New Mexico’s climate. When a fan asked him what challenges he faced, he tweeted back “weather, weather, weather.”
