Paul Santillanes Albuquerque arson suspect

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A man is behind bars after police say he started a fire near a business in northeast Albuquerque.

Paul Santillanes is charged with felony arson.

According to the criminal complaint deputies responded to a bakery on Montaño road northeast for a structure fire.

When they arrived, a witness told them he had spotted Santillanes walk out from behind a tree next to the business and watched a small fire begin to grow by that tree and fence.

According the criminal complaint, the witness told deputies he was the only person in the area when the fire broke out.

The business manager told police damages to the fence and landscaping would cost them around $600.
