The state’s Lottery Scholarship will cover most tuition for students in the fall. Technically, the scholarships will cover the “average” tuition at each university. The scholarship used to cover full tuition, but the scholarships are running short of cash. Money for the Spring semester is still up in the air.
Albuquerque police are on the hunt for whoever robbed and shot a gas station clerk yesterday. It happened in the middle of the day at the fill-up gas station on 12th and Candelaria, when a hispanic man with tattoos on his face shot Ramzi Hijazi in the leg. He’s ok and at home but it’s the third time his gas station’s been robbed in the last six months.
The big national news today is still about the investigation into VA hospitals. Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki is supposed to outline changes to the VA today to fix the long times some vets have to wait to get an appointment. New Mexico’s senators and many others want Shinseki to resign.
