GRANTS, N.M. (KRQE) – A Grants High school shop teacher has been arrested after he admitted to sexually abusing three students.
Jaco Jaurique, 28, has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and criminal sexual penetration of a minor.
According to New Mexico State Police, a female student told her parents that her teacher had sexually abused her at school between September 1, 20013 and November 30, 2013. At one point, police say that Jaurique told her “when are you going to give me the time of day?”
Another female student said that Jaurique had sexually abused her and that he was “flirtatious” with her. A third victim also told police that she had a sexual relationship with Jaurique.
School officials say that he is an unlicensed school employee and was also employed as an assistant wrestling coach.
Police arrested Jaurique Wednesday in Milan, New Mexico and he was booked into the Cibola County Detention Center.
