APD following leads in robbery, shooting investigation

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque police say they are working leads in their search for a man who shot a gas station clerk.

It happened just before noon Thursday at the Fill Up gas station on 12th and Candelaria.

Surveillance video shows the robber approaching Ramzi Hijazi at the counter, pulling a gun and demanding cash.

Within seconds, Hijazi is shot in the leg.

The suspect then grabs the cash from the register and took off.

APD says the shooter is a heavy-set Hispanic man with tattoos on his face.

Hijazi has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
