ABQ fire restrictions in effect June 2nd

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – All the recent rainfall hasn’t been enough to avoid fire restrictions in Albuquerque.

The state two restrictions will go into effect June 2nd.

That means smoking and campfires won’t be allowed in any of the city’s open spaces.

Those areas include the West Mesa, the Bosque and areas of the Sandia foothills.

Officials say they’ll be increasing patrols in these areas until conditions improve.
