NM students to receive full lottery scholarships

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Good news from the state’s higher education department.

There is enough money in the New Mexico Lottery Scholarship Program to provide full awards to many students this fall.

This comes after lawmakers made changes to the program earlier this year in hopes of saving the fund.

The Lottery Scholarship used to cover 100 percent of tuition.

Now it will average the cost of tuition, at New Mexico colleges and then provide that amount to students.

That means if you go to a more expensive school, you might not get all your tuition paid for, but if you attend a less expensive school you will.
