Kitchen worker arrested for tainting food

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque woman has been arrested for allegedly tainting the food served to probation and parole officers.

Yolanda Arguello is a cook at the New Mexico Women’s Recovery Academy, a private treatment facility for women coming out of prison that has a contract with the state.

According to fellow workers they’ve witnessed Arguello lick cheese and put it in the officers’ sandwiches. And suck on ice cubs that she then placed in their drinks.

A corrections spokeswoman says they’ve pulled Arguello’s security clearance so she can no longer work at that facility.

The company director wouldn’t say she will lose her job. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
