Mark’s Wednesday Evening Weather Report

A slightly better crop of afternoon thunderstorms popped up over the northern mountains today. There was heavy rain at times for the high peaks and even some of the high mountain valleys. Meanwhile here in the Rio Grande Valley we didn’t see anything more than a few clouds. But that could start to change over the next couple of days.

More moisture will creep up from the south and east fueling afternoon thunderstorms. The areas that will see most of the action will be the northern mountains and the east side of the state. There will not be as much thunderstorm activity as there was last week and into this past weekend but it still should be a decent crop through Saturday.

Models still disagree on exactly how the weekend will play out storm wise. Some models like widespread storms across the north. While others favor more isolated activity. We will iron that out over the next couple of days. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
