ANTHONY, N.M. (KRQE) – Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused a fire and a series of explosions at a southern New Mexico bio fuel facility.
Tanks containing toxic chemicals exploded Monday afternoon at the Rio Valley Bio Fuels facility near the town of Anthony.
There were no injuries but hundreds of homes were temporarily evacuated.
Railroad ties at the facility are still smoldering and crews are just letting them burn themselves out.
Officials say the smoke is not toxic.
