Barricaded suspect in custody, lockdown cancelled

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A wanted suspect is in custody Tuesday after barricading himself in a residence for a few hours.

Police responded to the 3200 block of Alta Monte Avenue Northeast Tuesday afternoon, nearby the Alta Monte Child Development Center which was put on lockdown.

The suspect was arrested without incident, police say, and a search warrant will be conducted on the residence.

Alta Monte was closed between Tulane and Lafayette, and will reopen soon, according to police. The lockdown at the child center has also been cancelled.
