Recreation sites reopen in Gila National Forest

GILA NATIONAL FOREST, N.M. (KRQE) – The Gila National Forest has reopened some recreation sites now that the Signal Fire is fully contained.

The wildfire burned 8.5 square miles north of Silver City.

The reopened sites include the McMillan and Cherry Creek Campground, the Ben Lilly Memorial observation site and the Signal Peak and Woodhaul Wagon Road trailheads.
