After an incredible weekend for rain statewide things have calmed down significantly to start this work week. We will see you spot showers over the northern mountains on Wednesday but nothing widespread. Temperatures will definitely be warm in the high 80s low 90s in most areas.
The weather gets more interesting on Thursday. Moisture from the remnants of hurricane Amanda will sneak under high-pressure over the state. This moisture will fuel thunderstorms starting Thursday and lasting into Saturday.
Make no mistake this will not be the same scenario we had last week. But there will be scattered showers over the mountains and valley sections that could once again help with the drought.
You can spot the southerly moisture tap that the models are picking up on in the picture below. As you can probably tell it’s more scattered showers and a big block of heavy rain.
