1 killed in I-40 motorcycle wreck

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Interstate 40 westbound at the Big I was closed Saturday afternoon due to a major wreck between a motorcycle and a car.

Police say the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the hospital. Two others were also transported to UNM Hospital in critical condition but they are expected to survive their injuries.

The incident is now being investigated however APD says that as of right now alcohol was not a factor.

All lanes of I-40 have since been reopened.
