Mark’s Friday Evening Weather Report

A series of strong storms continue to develop over Central New Mexico and roll to the Albuquerque metro area. The chance for heavy rain and small hail will continue through this evening and into the overnight hours.

As we transition overnight the character of the storms will change. The storms will go from heavy rain makers with frequent lightning to more stratoform light rain that will be beneficial to a good portion of the state.

By tomorrow afternoon once we add the heat of the day more strong storms will be possible for most of the state with the exception of the Southwest.

The rain threat will continue in the Monday is our storm slowly exits the Southwest. We Will then get a few days break before our next storm late next week.

Finally, here’s a look at model projections for weekend rainfall still very impressive across the East. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
