Showers and storms expand across more of the state today. The moisture that has overtaken the east the past couple of days will finally shift into central sections today. This will get more of the state into the action during the afternoon and evening. Once again, some storms could be severe across the east.
The storm out to the west will slowly cross the state over the weekend. Saturday will feature another decent round of showers and storms across much of the state. By Sunday, however, dry air will start to work into the storm system, cutting off storm chances across much of the southwest and central sections.
By Monday the storm will be departing, leaving storm chances primarily across the Northern Mountains and northeast. As the rest of the state dries out, temperatures will start to rebound to near average. Temps warm to above average for the middle part of next week before another storm approaches late next week.
