Convicted murderer found casing cars in ABQ

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A convicted killer wanted for violating his probation was caught last night, casing vehicles.

Officers responded to the area near Unser and Bluewater because of a suspicious subject walking in the area.

When officers arrived they say the man was extremely nervous and then took off running.

When they found him hiding in a shed officers learned the man is 40-year-old Javier Rosalez.

He was convicted of manslaughter in the shooting death of a man on Christmas Eve 2009.

As part of his probation Rosalez had to submit to regular urine tests.

A corrections spokesperson says he tried to alter his test by drinking a lot of water. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
