Police Driver in deadly crash was distracted

BELEN, N.M. (KRQE) – Police have named the driver they say caused a deadly crash in Belen that killed a 96-year old man.

According to police, 50-year-old Davida Myers somehow became distracted and drifted onto the shoulder of I-25 near Belen.

She then over corrected, clipping the truck in front of her causing it to roll.

The driver of the truck, 96-year-old Boleslo Romero, was airlifted to the hospital where he later died.

So far, no charges have been filed police say they’re investigating what caused Myers to become distracted.
