NM police to crackdown on seat belt violators

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – If you’re hitting the road this Memorial Day weekend, police are reminding you to buckle up.

Officers from all agencies will be cracking down on those who aren’t wearing their seat belts.

Last year nearly two-thirds of people killed in traffic crashes weren’t wearing seat belts.

New Mexico DOT plans to air TV ads throughout the holiday weekend encouraging people to say safe, especially parents responsible for buckling up their kids.
