Man indicted in license scheme

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man who police say admitted to running a fake driver’s license scheme for years has been indicted.

Daniel Salido is charged with two counts of forgery and one count of conspiracy.

Investigators say he told them he has been running the scheme for the last five years, charging people $2,000 each for fake paperwork showing they live in New Mexico.

Two illegal immigrants from South America were also indicted for trying to buy illegal documents so they could get driver’s licenses here.

They told police they answered an ad in a New York newspaper paying $1,500 each for the fake papers. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
