Farmers to get more water this season

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Farmers in southern New Mexico are expected to get more water this season.

According to the Bureau of Reclamation, it will release water from Caballo Reservoir starting Sunday and Elephant Butte on Tuesday.

Farmers in southern New Mexico who depend on the river are expected to get six inches of water. That’s double from last year, but only a fraction of a full allotment.
