Water authority OKs rate increase

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Water rates are going up.

Wednesday the Water Utility Authority approved an increase in water and sewer rates.

You’ll pay about $3 more a month starting in August.

The Water Utility Authority says it needs more money because more people are conserving water, and that means revenues are down.

The rate hike will help fix aging water lines across the city.
