Isotopes player suspended indefinitely

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Dodgers have suspended one of the Isotopes indefinitely for biting off part of a teammate’s ear.

It happened during the 8th inning at the Isotopes game in Salt Lake City Tuesday.

After trying to go after each other earlier in the game, catcher Miguel Olivo and infielder Alex Guerrero fought in the dugout.

That’s when Olivo bit Guerrero’s ear.

The Dodgers say Guerrero is recovering from plastic surgery and will remain in the hospital for a couple of days.

Guerrero, who’s from Cuba, signed a four year, $28 million deal with the Dodgers in October.

As for Olivo, the Dodgers say he’s suspended pending an investigation.
