Smoke disperses, health alert cancelled

Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Environmental Health Department cancelled a health alert Tuesday morning that was originally scheduled to last until 2 p.m.

According to department officials, a large plume of smoke was seen on satellite radar Monday due to the Skunk Fire in Arizona. A health alert was then issued around 5:45 p.m. The smoke seemed to be heading directly for Albuquerque, but ended up dispersing before reaching central New Mexico, officials say.
