City, APS approve funding for Rio Grande pool

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Rio Grande High School pool will be built after all.

Monday night the city council approved giving $200,000 toward the project.

APS announced Monday that it too will kick in the other $200,000 needed.

All that funding will allow the county to move forward with the pool renovation that has been stalled because of a money shortage.

The county and the state have already contributed more than $3.5 million for the construction.

The Rio Grande pool was demolished in November. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
