Woman’s body found in Shiprock

SHIPROCK, N.M. (KRQE) – A woman’s body was found in Shiprock around 7:30 p.m. Sunday and now the FBI and the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety are seeking answers and her identification.

They say the body was found in an irrigation ditch near Mesa Farm Road and could have been there for 24 hours.

She is described as a Native American woman in her late teens or early 20s with long black hair and a tattoo of a star on her neck. She was wearing a black T-shirt.

Her cause of death is unknown at this time.
