Udall wants NM VA Medical Center investigated

Udall wants NM VA Hospital included in investigation

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Congress grilled the veterans’ affairs secretary Thursday about charges the VA has covered up the long wait times facing vets who need medical care:

“Any adverse incidents like this, makes me as — makes me mad as hell,” Secretary Eric Shinseki, with the Department of Veterans Affairs said.

Whistleblowers in five states claim vets were put on secret waiting lists to hide the fact that they had to wait months for care.

Forty who needed care in Phoenix, Arizona allegedly died before they got it.

The VA Medical Center in Albuquerque has not surfaced in any of the reports, but New Mexico Senator Tom Udall said today he wants it included in the expanded investigation ordered by Secretary Shinseki.
