Man wearing ankle monitor accused of new crime

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man already wearing an ankle monitor apparently didn’t let that stop him from committing another crime.

On Wednesday morning police say a man withdrew money from the ATM at the 7/11 on Lomas near 12th Street.

When he walked out, someone grabbed him, punched him in the face and stole his wallet.

Police say the victim followed the suspect and was able to take down his license plate number.

Police tracked down that plate to Stephen Vasquez.

He was already wearing an ankle monitor for a prior arrest.

He was arrested again.
