Correction officers injured at Santa Fe juvenile center

SANTA FE (KRQE) – A disturbance at the juvenile lock up in Santa Fe left two corrections officers hurt, one of them had to go to the hospital.

It happened last night at the facility off of Airport Road, which houses about 40 youth.

Officials say three juveniles assaulted a corrections officer and another officer was hurt while trying to intervene.

One of the officers was taken to Christus St. Vincent hospital with a concussion, the other was treated on scene.
