NM game commission delays drone decision

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The state game commission has delayed a vote on the use of drones for hunting.

It’s already become an issue in other states where hunters have used the tiny aircraft to scout out the animals and once they’re found…hunt them.

Many New Mexico’s sportsmen were pushing for a ban, saying it goes against the principal of fair chase.

There are already rules for the use of aircraft during hunting and the commission was considering lumping drones under that category.

Many sportsmen wanted an all out ban.

The issue will be addressed again next month.
