Fedex could move ABQ distribution center

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Fedex may relocate its distribution center to Albuquerque’s west side.

Right now it leases a 35,000 square foot building near I-25 and Montaño.

If all goes as planned the new nearly 200,000 square foot distribution center will be built on Daytona Road on the south side of I-40 and Unser.

Officials say the west side location will give Fedex easy access to the interstate for their trucks without having to deal with a lot of city traffic.

No word yet if the new facility will add any jobs.
