Mental health program owes state $500K

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An organization that helps people with developmental disabilities is going to have to repay the state thousands of dollars because of missing paperwork.

The Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Unit found the Los Lunas Community Program failed to properly document $500,000 in services.

The AG’s Office says this wasn’t a case of Medicaid fraud, but the group has to pay back the money anyway.

The Health Department says a new oversight process will help make sure this doesn’t happen again. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
