Suspect in carjacking, stabbing arrested

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Police have arrested the suspect in a carjacking and stabbing that occurred Sunday afternoon on Central Avenue.

The victim in the incident is in the hospital in stable condition, police say.

Around 3:45 p.m., police say the suspect stole the car at a business located at 12930 Central, and hit another vehicle while trying to flee. The suspect was spotted by police shortly after.

Police were able to set up a spike belt around 90th Street and Central, where the tires of the stolen vehicle were deflated. Police say the suspect then fled on foot, but was quickly arrested.

Detectives are investigating the incident.
