APS investigated for not enrolling immigrant students

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The feds are investigating Albuquerque Public Schools after accusations it kept children who are in the U.S. illegally from enrolling in school.

APS says it just learned about the investigation.

They say they’re looking into it and that they don’t which schools are being accused.

School districts can ask for proof of a student’s age and whether they live in the district.

But the feds say in some cases, schools in Albuquerque were allegedly requiring information on a child’s visa status or the date they entered the U.S.
