3 arrested in thrift shop theft

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (KRQE0 – Three people have been arrested for stealing from an Alamogordo thrift store.

Police say 44-year-old Myrna Sanchez, 52-year-old Esteban Romo and 23-year-old Sarah Aragon were caught on surveillance video taking items from the Zia Thrift Shop donation area.

Proceeds from the Zia Thrift Shop go to Zia Therapy, a business that helps kids with learning disabilities, and they give people a place to stay if they have nowhere else to go.

The owner of the thrift store says they see thefts at least once a day there.

Sanchez, Romo and Aragon are all charged with larceny.
