ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – APD released some video of the latest police shooting Tuesday
While the video is disturbing, it does not show the shooting itself.
Cell phone video taken by Armand Martin’s son shows the father with a gun ordering the family to leave their Ventana Ranch home Saturday afternoon after the Air Force vet had snapped.
Police also released video showing officers approaching Martin’s body in the driveway.
Police say they shot him after he came out of the house firing.
In the video can see two guns and bullet casings near his body.
My detectives have been working around the clock,” Deputy Chief Eric Garcia said. “There’s more video in this case that my detectives have not had the opportunity to review.”
APD explained the lack of video by saying some officers had turned their cameras off to save batteries during the six-hour standoff and that others were more concerned about taking cover when martin came out than turning on their cameras.
APD identified the SWAT officer who fired the shot at Martin as Daniel Hughes, a 12 year vet.
