Mark’s Tuesday evening forecast

Here we go again! Wicked winds are closing in on New Mexico. Gusts on Wednesday are likely to top 50 mph statewide with the east getting the worst of it with gusts topping 55mph. Here in the Albuquerque our winds will hit 50 mph. Unlike most wind events we get we could well see winds increase overnight and stay up during the day.

As far as precipitation goes with this storm the favored areas will be SW Colorado and the NW New Mexico as well as the northern mountains. The problem is there isn’t a great deal of juice with this storm so only scattered showers are possible in the areas that see anything at all. An isolated storm in the metro would be great it’s just not likely.

As far as temps go they will continue to head down topping out in the low 70’s Wednesday and the high 60’s post storm on Thursday. However, a quick warmup will take place Friday into the weekend. By Saturday we will be back in the 80’s under sunny skies.
