ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Hunters are coming out in support of a proposal to ban the use of drones for hunting.
It’s already become an issue in other states, where hunters have used the tiny aircraft to scout out the animals, hunting them once they are found.
In other cases some have used the drones to push the animals toward hunters.
But many hunters in New Mexico argue that it’s simply not the way it should be done and want to see it banned.
The Game Commission will take up the issue May 15th.
Some hunters say some environmentalists have also been known to use drones to harass hunters, they would like to see that outlawed as well, but that is not included in the proposal being considered.
