Highland High School softball coach fired

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – APS says Highland High School Softball Coach Tim Gallegos has been fired after using two illegal players.

The 0-21 Hornets had so many injuries and academic problems; they recently couldn’t field a team.

So, APS says Gallegos played two mid school eighth graders, one of them from out of town.

Eighth graders can play high school sports under certain circumstances, but not the way this was done.

The Hornets will forfeit their last two games.
