NM students experience life on Mars

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Thousands of fifth grade students across the state are getting a chance to experience what its like to live on Mars.

The event is put on by the Air Force Research Laboratory.

Friday’s Mars mission flight at the Albuquerque Convention Center gave kids the chance to put all of their hard work into motion, constructing scientific looking houses.

The 27,000 students have been working on these unique living quarters for a year.

And Friday their hard work paid off.

The Mars mission flight has spent the last 20 years of providing science, technology and math education to students in New Mexico.
